Barbara Kruger

When researching identity, I came across Barbara Krugers work, 'Who do you think you are?' I then decided to look further at her work and found that a lot of the statements in her work seem to be related to identity.

I think Barbara Krugers work links in well to our project as she seems to question how we look and act and if we really are unique or just constantly influenced by eachother.

  1. I have not looked at Krugers work before but it does look interesting. These phrases which she has included are quite powerful, especially with the red as a contrast to the black and white imagery. This is bold and makes it stand out which helps to push the message across. This does make us think more about how we will show the message in our own work.

  2. I like the way that these images come across very clearly and powerfully especially with the mix of the text. This makes me think that we need to think carefully about the type of text that we use within our presentation and the colours and font style that we use. However I don't think that we are wanting our message to be quite as obvious as this work- instead more of a prompt to allow the viewer to make up their own mind on what the work is about. Jessie
