After spotting some school children in town I began to think about how uniforms are used as an attempt to make us all look the same. Making us crafted repetition. However, I remember as a school student, the uniforms did not stop people from customising and accessorising to give uniforms a more unique look. Personally, I liked to add jewellery and customise my tie by pulling out thread from the weave to create my own pattern. A perfect example of this is in the movie st Trinians.

School uniform is a good example of when people are conformed to look the same. There were always checks to make sure everyone was wearing the correct uniform. This example of St Trinians is also a good one as it exaggerates the different styles to show the differences. I think these groups existed in my school and it was clear to see the different styles.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jenn in the way that these groups were really evident within people in my school. I think its a really interesting concept to see how people are all completely unique and yet we are made to conform and look a certain way. School uniform is a great example of this as people are all made to look the same at a time when people are trying to find out who they are and rebel against any rules that are given to them.
